The latest… massive opportunities for renewable energy investors in Uzbekistan:
The Uzbek government has set new ambitious goals for renewable energy development to power the country, 27 GW of renewable energy capacity and 40% of electricity production from renewables by 2030. This includes solar, wind, hydro, and biomass.
About 73% of energy consumed in Uzbekistan comes from natural gas; however, with this new initiative the government is running up the numbers to become a major renewable energy hub in Central Asia. More than a dozen of renewable projects are underway worth hundreds of MWs in Solar PV and Wind generation that will soon be powering the country to continue feeding the local economy and export in the regional market. Several of these are hybridized projects that for the first time in Central Asia include MWs of Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) + RENEWABLES, as well as a pilot Green Hydrogen project powered by wind technology led by international cooperation with the local government and private sector. The financing of the first renewable energy projects has been carried by international multilateral institutions that see the potential of investing in Uzbekistan to enhance its renewable energy capabilities and pave the way for more investors to join!

The program is spread over 5 main panel sessions:

  • Session 1: Uzbekistan to become a renewable energy hub in Central Asia – Enabling policies and strategic partnerships
  • Session 2: Solar and wind technology – Diving into Uzbekistan enormous untapped renewable energy potential
