Renpower Senegal – 5th Edition

04 July 24

Solar PV – Smart grid – Wind Systems – Energy Storage – Green Hydrogen – Financing

As Senegal embarks on a new chapter, ‘RENPOWER’ remains committed to promoting the country’s assets to attract investment, integrate innovation, and invest in partnerships in the renewable energy sector. Senegal stands at a crucial crossroads in its pursuit of sustainable socio-economic development, and this event will underscore the urgency of accelerating universal access to energy. Aligning with global climate and national development objectives, tackling persistent challenges, and scaling up a sustainable electricity transformation of Senegal will continue to be key factors in this journey.

The supply of sustainable electricity at lower cost, mitigating disparities between urban and rural areas, preserving biodiversity, providing an effective response to climate challenges, these are but a few of the projects to be implemented in the next years. The Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) – an EUR 2.5 Billion initiative to support Senegal’s efforts to achieve universal access to energy and consolidate a low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable energy system – will be a catalyst for Senegal to make a major step forward in its transition to a clean energy future.

Presentations, Q&A sessions, and panel discussions will delve into the role of renewable energy in Senegal’s future, the need for infrastructure development, and innovative financing mechanisms to drive clean energy investments.
Public stakeholders and private sector expert speakers will share their views, highlight the prospects and update you on the future energy mix that will not only rely on solar, wind, hydro but also gas-to-power and green hydrogen.
