As Senegal embarks on a new chapter, ‘RENPOWER’ remains committed to promoting the country’s assets to attract investment, integrate innovation, and invest in partnerships in the renewable energy sector. Senegal stands at a crucial crossroads in its pursuit of sustainable socio-economic development, and this event will underscore the urgency of accelerating universal access to energy. The supply of sustainable electricity at lower cost, mitigating disparities between urban and rural areas, preserving biodiversity, providing an effective response to climate challenges, these are but a few of the projects to be implemented in the next years. The Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) – an EUR 2.5 Billion initiative to support Senegal’s efforts to achieve universal access to energy and consolidate a low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable energy system – will be a catalyst for Senegal to make a major step forward in its transition to a clean energy future.
